Alas, I am not.
However, the good thing about my lovely group of friends is that when we are all back at home for jovial holidays (this is how shockingly overdue this blog post is, from Christmas for god's sake), we all make an effort to have a nice meal out. Good food, good company and a good catch up. Surely all you need in life.
Well, I certainly had excellent company, and we most definitely had a superb catch up. Now on to the food. I opted for a seafood chowder (around the £12) mark.
Crackers aside, this chowder was, well, it was alright. Not inedible, not orgasmic, just alright. The fish was alright. Not fresh and flaky, not so over cooked it was like rubber, just... alright. The soup itself didn't pack a fragrant punch, nor was it acrid or poisonous, it was... alright. For me, the highlight was probably the cubes of potato which at least gave the dish a different dimension.
Thank fuck for the company I was with, otherwise this might have been one whole-heartedly disappointing luncheon INDEED. However, stirling company compensated for the slower than average service and for my distinctly alright food. I think if I were to go again, I would order the fish and chip medley platter thing - two of my friends had it and it looked bloody beautiful.
