I settled down with a G & T and after meets and greets, we had the most divine seafood buffet to start. King prawns, mussels, oysters (which, I'm afraid to say, I did not partake in), tomato and red onion salad as well as a large Greek salad and a selection of bread. Ummmm YUM. Shamefully, my first experience shelling prawns but it was a great success. A deliciously light starter, with the option of pea and mint soup (which I sampled and it was so fresh!) as well if you preferred.
I'd had to choose my main in advance and I opted for the salmon (only person in the party who did). The salmon was cooked to perfection, with a beautifully piped bit of creamy mash, and srumptious creamed leeks. All with a side order of silver service and lovely, friendly, attentive staff - just what you want.
Overall, whether the food was shit - I would have loved the day because I was spending my friend's 21st with her and her family. But. IT WAS SENSATIONAL. The staff were brilliant and so accommodating. I enjoyed every forkful I shoved into my gob, especially the pudding. I was a very lucky girl to be taken for such a treat, and I heartily recommend the Captain's Club for a swanky pants do (if you have one coming up in the Dorset area...)
